trying to get libpam-mysql running on Ubuntu

trying to get libpam-mysql running on Ubuntu 9.04, I just want the OS to let users from the mysql table to log in

[BTW the mysql server is not localhost but is a webserver could that be a issue?]

I have been following this guide ( but to no avail : ( I think it might be missing a step or process ?

I just want to authenticate users at the moment, not have directories (I can do this later)

I will check the logs to see what the problem could be...

mysql, ubuntu
