Trying to convert mp4 animation to dvd video with ffmpeg, unsupported codec?
New to using ffmpeg, and trying to convert an mp4 animation file that plays okay but doesn't convert with ffmpeg. Get error message saying that unsupported codec 0x86018? With a Google search, all I could find was to install faab library, but I already have faad library and the libmp4 library. How do I get this to work?
Command used is "ffmpeg -i animation.mp4 -target ntsc-dvd animation.mpg"

Reason: typo
Never heard of the faab library. Do you mean libfaad?
Run ffmpeg -formats for a list of supported formats. Where you install ffmpeg could be important. It may not be built with the support for the library you need. See the sticky on the top of your distro's forum page on this site. It usually says which repo you want to use for multimedia programs.
