We need more information:
What type of DVD do you try to burn?
Which burning software do you use on which version of which distro?
What is the exact error-message?

Install the gstreamer plugin packages and try again:
Code:
apt-get install gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly gstreamer0.10-plugins-good gstreamer0.10-plugins-base gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad
Keep in mind that you need to be root when launching that command.

There is no Multiverse on Debian, Debian is not Ubuntu. Use the Synaptic package manager to enable the non-free repositories, then use Synaptic to install the GStreamer packages or launch the command I posted earlier.
