I decided to build a new computer and I did.
I wanted away from B.Gates so I chose Mandrake 10.0 for AMD64
The system is up and running but I am having trouble with my pick of dvd
combo drive. It is a BenQ DW1620. The system see's it but that is all. My hard drives are IDE as are the CD and the DVD players. I added the CD
player to get up and running. I also have a Lexmark X4270 all in one
printer, scanner,fax,and copier. I cannot find the drivers for it.
It has been a long time of using windows and I am very very rusty
with using linux base systems.

have you looked on the lexmark site?they write their own linux drivers,much the same as nvidia.

I have checked the lexmark site and they do not have a driver for this printer as yet. I did question them if another of their drivers would work and have not received an answer yet.
