Red face Trouble with kosnole


When i start a shell (konsole),logged on as root, and type ls or anything else,i (cannot go back from there with cd)i cannot see the directories like usr dev mnt tmp ...... but only bin and Desktop.why ???? please help me.

linux:~ # ls
. .exrc .gtkrc-kde .qt
.. .gconf .kde .sawfish
.DCOPserver_linux_:0 .gconfd .kpackage .skel
.DCOPserver_linux__0 .gnome .mcop .wmrc
.ICEauthority .gnome-desktop .mcoprc .xinitrc
.SuSENautilusPage .gnome_private .mozilla .xsession-errors
.Xauthority .gnupg .nautilus Desktop
.bash_history .gtkrc .nautilus-metafile.xml bin
linux:~ #

i see this and nothing else except this....

Tried typing:

cd ..

and then doing ls?
