trouble with ./configure

When i tried to install a theme, the manual said to ./configure in the theme's directory. It returned lots of messages in the console until it stopped at "can't find X, check the path" (sorry, i don't remember the exact message).
Am i doing something wrong or where do i change the path to X (and where is X anyway)?
I'm using Yellow Dog Linux (Red Hat for ppc) and pretty new to it. I can't install most stuff over rpms because they don't support ppc so i need help!

I can't say without exact errormessage, but it sounds like your X development libraries are missing/not installed. In debian, the package containing those libraries is called xlibs-dev. Probably something similar in your distribution.

The exact error message is:

configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!

So i guess you're right. Thanks

X is the window system. It's the thing that mean you can use (and see) a mouse. It means you can have GRAPHICS!! :)
