Trouble using wireless in openSUSE 11.1

I am using an Atheros 5418/5008 pci-e card with the Madwifi driver in Suse 11.0 sucessfully but when I installed Suse 11.1 (with the ATH9k driver), wireless seems to connect ok but at only 1mbs rate and eventually completely fails after about 10 minutes.
Can anyone give me a clue as to what the problem might be?

Thanks for the 'heads up' on the Suse weekly news but what I need is the solution for the 802.11 draft n version (ATH9k) - part of the kernel, which does not use the HAL. The Madwifi drivers only support abg at the moment.
