Trouble updating packages, error message
Hi there !
The last couple of days when update manager runs, I get the following error message: "Data files for some packages could not be downloaded The following packages requested additional data downloads after package installation, but the data could not be downloaded or could not be processed. flashplugin-installer This is a permanent failure that leaves these packages unusable on your system. You may need to fix your Internet connection, then remove and reinstall the packages to fix this problem." Why is this and how can I fix the problem ? Forever newbie, eimrpr |
For starters, it would help if you told us what distribution of Linux you are using.

Would clear a lot.

Which operating system?
Well, instead of using any package manager, you could directly go to the website (see here), choose your OS and package type, download the package and install it. You can find installation instructions in README file coming with the package. |
Trouble updating packages
Hi, again. Sorry for not giving most needed information.
The distro I am using is Ubuntu 12.04 |
Run it as:
Code:
~$ sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer You can find installation instructions in README file coming with the package. EDIT: If it still gives error, then share the full error message. |
