Trouble making Bootable Linux Disc
Hi . Im a Newbie to Linux
I have Downloaded Iso Images of Red Hat Linux 9 (shrike) i have downloaded all the three disks. Im using Windows Xp sp2 . i made a bootable disk of linux using nero cd(boot) and using the boot.img file as boot file required and selected all the directories wch i have downloaded as disc 1. everything went fine whn i restarted the system using boot 4m cd it booted linux screen came press enter to setup in graphical mode but after that After i press Enter text mode came and it asked me for language and after that it says no Red Hat Installation disc found. options like install 4m hard disk n all r there. Can anyone plz tell me how can i make linux installation disk so tht i can easily install linux on my system using these Cd's also tell me the procedure for rest of the 2 cd's will they b bootable also.? this is my first post Hope to get some replies.. |
create boot diskette in your windos
C:/>d: D:/>cd \dostutils D:dosutils/>rawrite Enter disk image source file name: d:..\images\boot.img Enter target diskette drive: a: Please insert a formatted diskette into drive A: and Press -ENTER- : ps: assume D is ur cd lah dont worry about others cd , installer ask then u put in someone make correction if that thing not right because i no longer use rh now use fedora no more bootdisk but as i rember rh9 need |
If you use Nero, you can burn the ISO as an image. The ISO should have all the bootinformation in it.
Open the full Version of Nero, and make a new project. Then do Recorder > Burn Image. Choose the ISO to burn and burn it. |
