Angry Trouble installing skipjack

I have 3 - 40GB drives I am trying to install the SkipJack beta on. I have successfully installed other distros on these HD's. I am receiving the following error:

The Kernel was unable to re-read the partition table on /tmp/hda (Device or resource busy)........ It cycles through all the HD's and then it may or may not try to install. I have tried manually fdisking, to no avail. Any advise or pointers would be welcomed.

OK, I installed RedHat 7.2, did an upgrade of Skipjack, everything is fine. I would still like to know why this happened, so if you know, please fill me in.
