Trouble installing RH9

I'm trying to install RH9(shrike) on a Compaq Proliant 1600R Server, Dual P2 400MHz, 384MB SDRAM, 5-4.3GB SCSI HDD (currently only one in) and for the time being I'm using a Hitachi CM721F monitor. Anaconda is unable to detect my monitor and hangs the installation. I've tried going into the installation via text mode and also using skipdd, but no luck.

So far i've been unable to find any sort of linux drivers for my monitor that I could possibly put on a drivers diskette. If anyone has any suggestions, please share.

I dont have any "monitor" drivers whatsoever. i couldnt even get X out of 640x480 untill i sellected Generic 1200x1600 from the monitor selection utility. That was well after RH9 install though. Sounds like a video card issue to me. but im no expert.

good luck

Well it detected the on board video no problem, I guess it's just an issue with Compaq servers, I searched around the forums a little more and found a couple others that were having the same issues, but with other distros.

I found a solution through another thread. Had to enter this at the install/boot prompt:

linux apm=off skipddc nousb
