Red face Trouble installing linux on a laptop!

Thank you for your help in advance.

I have lots of experience with windows but I'm a noob with Linux.

Its a m2400n Model m2n laptop,

Intel Pentium M processor 1500Mhz
Intel pro wireless lan 2100 mini pci
Realtek rtl8139 family pci fast internet nic
Intel 82852/82855 gm/gme graphics controller
Toshiba mk2023gas hard drive
SigmaTel C-Major Audio

I have 21 laptops I have tried installing Red Hat 8, Suse 10, Ubunto and Fedora.

All but Suse will hang on install

Suse will install but does not do so properly it will not work correctly.

I have tried installing on two of the laptops with the same problems.

Any help or questions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Linux noob

I recently had similar problems with my new Toshiba notebook computer. I just tried different distributions until I found one that worked. It may have helped a little bit that I chose the network install of the distribution that finally worked, Debian Etch. If I were going to do it again I would use the business card ISO for Debian just to make it get more stuff from the network.

Some computers don't like CD-RW disks. Try using a CD-R disk instead.

Have you tried booting with acpi=off?
