Trouble booting GRUB from floppy...

In a thread below I was having problems with booting from a SCSI card and it was suggested that I try booting GRUB from a floppy instead.

Well.... I followed the directions for creating a bootable floppy with GRUB on it and I get the following message at boot:

GRUB Loading Stage2Geom Error

Any idea what gives?

There is a problem with stage2 . You could use the stage2 which comes on the RIP linux livecd.

homey I hope you are right otherwise its a oops for me.

my opinion is that there may be an issue with the kernel not having scsi compiled in rather than as a module or built into a ramdisk image.

Anyhow to make a good grub floppy try my howto....or the cdr way
