trouble adding a user
okay so I make a new user on my computer and it makes it and everything. I can log into it but when I type 'startx' to start Gnome the screen goes fuzzy grey and stays that way with an "X" as the cursor. the only file that is made is named '.screenrc'

try "xwmconfig" for the new user and "startx" again

bleh well it's another damn problem with the root drive being too full! is there a way I can take a GB or so from my home partition and nicely give it to my root partition?
my home partition is 28% full and my root is 100% full! EEP! It started not loading Gnome in root too so I logged in and deleted some unnessessary files on my root partition! |
i don't think you can give up some space from your home partition to your root partition. if your home partition is side by side to your root partition, then you need to delete your home partion first(do data backup first!!) before you enlarge your root partition.

nvm I fixed it by just reinstalling Slackware :)
