Trick of Linux: How to find a username & password through distribution .iso
 

Hi every body,
This a second post for me in this wonderful site, Now i'll show a question but it is not fully question?!
How?
The main idea i want view it now is how to Extract(find) the username and password of any linux distibution through the linux os files like Windows OS....

But How this?:Pengy:

by example:
In windows, if i cannot find the serial key of a windows os, i can find it manually by search for file: WINN.SIF and open it by editor, then i find the serial key inside this file without using any kaygen or pathes ....
So the main question is there a way like this in linux through it can find this information like username or password that linux os live want it before longing it...

The serial key of windows has nothing to do with username/password of linux ISO.

You don't need to know the username/password or anything called serial key under Linux distros.
They are open source products. During the installation, you can manually provide username/password and thats it.
Your Machine is Ready.

I recommend you to go through Linux sites and resources first rather than delaying your time here.

So, you just want to rip off a free distribution that makes no attempt whatsoever to hide anything, nor prevent you doing whatever you want as part of its normal operation?? I seriously think you don't understand fundamental principles behind Open Source source development.

You might mean that you want to go in to a running distro and steal the root password? Well if so, that's also pretty shitty / naive. You can't do that directly as all passwords are encrypted with a one way cipher, but if you look in /etc/shadow there are all the local encrypted passwords if you want to try reversing them...

You can get the usernames from /etc/passwd, but you cannot get passwords out of any file. You cannot find Windows passwords in a file either.

Please explain what your overall goal is---what problem you are trying to solve.

Heve you EVER tried Linux before?

It has NOTHING to do with Windows, not even with the "serial key".

And Linux itself has no keys or activation, because it's Free/Open Source Software.
