Question Trash Can Icon

I am using the Bluecurve theme for gnome on red hat 9.0. I found an icon that I would like to use as the default trash can. When I edit the entry X-Nautilus-Icon= that is located in the Trash file located in ~/.gnome-desktop. It doesn't stay. It always default to the original. What should I do?

Thanks.

I think you actually need to wack over the trash icon in whatever icon theme you're using. Copy over the desired trash icon in your theme directory and restart Gnome. Trash and a couple othes are reserved.

locate trash.png will tell you where you need to copy to.

Good Luck

Nah...this didn't work. I looked in my home directory and found \Meta~\.Themes folder and, was not able to locate the Trash can icon. I also looked in the directory where the main themes such as BlueCurve, Gtk, Gtk2, etc..etc..are kept (I forgotten the path...I am at work right now) and I still was not able to change the Trash Icon. LOL I have spent 3 days trying to so this and I need an ice pack to bring down the swelling in my forehead.

hm.

i replaced the trash icons in the following directories:

/usr/share/icons/Bluecurve/16x16/filesystems
/usr/share/icons/Bluecurve/32x32/filesystems
/usr/share/icons/Bluecurve/48x48/filesystems
/usr/share/icons/Bluecurve/192x192/filesystems

filenames to replace:

trashcan_empty.png
trashcan_full.png
gnome-fs-trash-empty-accept.png
gnome-fs-trash-empty.png
gnome-fs-trash-full.png

(you just need two trashcan-'states' as icon.. full and empty)

good luck.
