.Trash and .Trash-1000
 
Can someone explain what is .Trash and .Trash-1000 folder. How is it created or some more details on it? Thanks !

I think it is similar to \RECYCLED folder, in Windows XP, created by Gnome...

To add more information:
The reason you've got 2 directories like that is that they were probably created by different users (1000 is a user ID) or different distros sharing a partition.

.Trash-1000 is created due to default trash for user id 1000 this is the first user you create and .trash is made by root user...

each drive has its own trash directory....and each user has its own directory..

Thanks for all your replies. Are these folders created only when I delete a file, or these fiels are generated by default when something is mounted.

They are created during install or adding a new user. The only thing you really need to bother with is purging the files out every once in awhile, or setting a kb limit to the folder.
