transperency on kde

i am wondering how to make all or some applications transparent.... mainly Gaim and possibly xmms...

scuzzman 01-19-2005 11:09 PM

I'm not so sure if this is possible, you might search for transparent themes for xmms, as for GAIM I'm unsure. If you're looking for transparent terminals, I wrote a tutorial on that here.

http://gentoo-wiki.com/Tip X11 and Tranparency

do you know off hand if that will or how i make the minimized apps transparent too?

LuckyABA 01-20-2005 12:39 AM

k i got it all working except for the individual minimized windows. but how do i keep the setting so i dont have to set the setting each window every time i open it or reboot

Junior Hacker 01-20-2005 02:59 AM

Not sure, I haven't set it up yet, just found that info while reading the configuration page at Mandrake Linux Tips For Free web site, which will probably answer that question.

PS. Scuzzman, glad to have witnessed your 1000th post, I just quit fighting with that 537EP modem of mine & hooked up a serial modem I've had hanging around for a couple of weeks now, an older 33600 but at least I'm not jumping over to Windows so much anymore, headin' to Oil sands tonight...latter.
