traceroute vs tracepath

What is the difference between traceroute and tracepath commands? I'm really confused. Anyone please help.

I found this on the manpage for tracepath:
It uses UDP port port or some random port. It is
similar to traceroute, only does not not require superuser
privileges and has no fancy options.
My linux distro doesn't include tracepath, and I looked on a page that lists linux commands and it didn't have it. I guess it's a new utility. I hope that helps.
