Touchscreen Support in Debian Squeeze (6.0.4)

I have just installed Debian Squeeze (6.0.4) on a Dell Inspiron Duo which has a touch screen.

Debian obviously recognises the touch screen but pressing the screen just toggles the Application menu.

I think I need the eGalax driver to get this working a bit better but I was hoping someone here might be able to give some general advice about what I need to do and what kind of capability I might expect if I get it working.
