I want to dual boot both Windows 7 and Linux. (is that a good idea?)

My computer is old so i'm not really sure if I should here are the specs and tell me if I should buy more ram or update anything.
Processor: Intel (R) Core (Tm)2 CPU 4400@2.00 Ghz 2.00Ghz
Installed memory (RAM) 2 GB
System type: 32 bit
I have 300 gb of hard drive memory

Thanks in advance
Configuration sounds great for linux.

If you're interested in Linux, another option to dual-booting is using VirtualBox/Vmware to run linux inside of Windows. That may be helpful to you as you do not have to constantly reboot.
