Well, here is another again. I needed to install alsa because I don't have it. Well I went to alsa-project.org and downloaded, well how can I get it to recognize it when I go to root to config my sndcard?

Assuming you install Alsa exactly as the instructions said - I would suggest this thread will have the answers.

In future, please try to use more descriptive thread titles.
