too many fonts?


is there a limit to the number of fonts that can be installed for X windows?
an absolute limit or a reasonable limit?

i wasn't aware of any font quantity limitations in X. i've got over 1000+ fonts on my system and no problems on my end. how many fonts are you thinking of adding?

i was just wondering because i know too many fonts can cause problems in Windows and i thought that there might be some memory buffer limitations or something
what was the sarcastic reply?

that you keep installing fonts until [it] tells you to f**k off or you get really bored installing fonts
