tomcat with apache or proxy server

please advice should I hide my tomcat under a proxy or apache http server ?
I know its not safe to expose tomcat directly , so we need either a proxy server or tomcat apache http server , which one is better and simple ?

well apache IS a proxy server when used in that context. I would recommend Apache personally, using plain mod_proxy for simplicity, but you can certainly use mod_jk or an ajp connector if you desire.
