Tomcat unable to take database from mysql

I have a problem deploying jsp servlet war file on tomcat in RHEL 5.It works fine on windows 7 workstation and all windows servers(2003 and 2008).But when i try it in RHEL 5 ,the webpage shows but database from mysql is not showing.Actual problem is ,the project name is ecm,my developer has put it as ECM in his coding ,but in windows it works really fine as it is not case sensitive. But in Linux i was changing the database name as ECM and it used to work. But when ever my developer updates database and n gives me new .sql file ,i face the same problem while deploying war file. Now its not working even if i change the database name to ECM. I tried adding a variable in my-large.cnf in mysql that disables the case-sensitivity but it didn't work as well. Please provide a solution to my problem. It will be great if some one can provide permanent solution to this problem.
Thanks in advance....

Server : RHEL 5
Tomcat ver: 7
Mysql ver: 5.5
JDK - 7

mysql, rhel5, tomcat
