Todays update

After todays update I get
Code:
 uname -a
Linux Eagle 5.10.0-17-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.10.136-1 (2022-08-13) x86_64 GNU/Linux
When booting I don't see kernel 5.10.136 as a boot option in advanced settings.

Did you have the boot partition mounted while updating?

What bootloader are you using? If it's grub, what kernel does grub.cfg point to?

Did the bootloader get updated when you updated the kernel?

The grub menu shows the release string, not the kernel i.e. 5.10.0-17-amd64 and by default keeps the last 3.
vmlinuz-5.10.0-17-amd64
vmlinuz-5.10.0-16-amd64
vmlinuz-5.10.0-15-amd64

Quote:
uname -r (or cat /proc/sys/kernel/osrelease)
5.10.0-17-amd64
uname -v (or cat /proc/sys/kernel/version)
#1 SMP Debian 5.10.136-1 (2022-08-13)
-r = kernel-release
-v = kernel-version

uname -r
Code:
uname -r
5.10.0-17-amd64
Code:
uname -v
#1 SMP Debian 5.10.136-1 (2022-08-13
using grub on separate boot partition. sda1 ext4.

synaptic lists linux-image-amd-64 Linux 5.10.136-1 for 64-bit PC's (meta package). ??

That would be it. Normally grub would also be updated with a new kernel menu item (5.10.0-17-amd64).
Did that happen?
