to: Azmeen. I'm going to forget about Mandrake and Slackware for now. I know jon has not been around to help me with my modem in Redhat. There was 3 options because the modem drivers would'nt work on Redhat 9. The options were downgrade to Redhat 8, recompile the kernel (to advance for me) or buy an serial port modem. So i have Redhat 8. I currently took it off of my computer to play with FreeBSD. My modem drivers are on CD. When i put Redhat back on my computer. Do you think you could take jon's place for now and help me?? He would be happy to see that i configure my modem. Can you please help me?? Please reply back. Thanks Azmeen.

Hi Derek,

I've read your modem post... and out of curiosity, I've looked up on whether it's possible to get your modem working... Looks like there is a possibility.

However, out of respect for other LQ'ers, I suggest we continue at the thread you already started.

Mods, please remove this thread altogether... Thanks

To: dsantamassino,

Please use better and more helpful thread titles in the future. Making a title requesting help from another member in no way tells other members what your specific problem is. If your going to specifically ask one member a question, I would suggest emailing them if they don't mind that is, otherwise, you should direct your titles for everyone to help you out, as you might get faster responses if others feel they can post as well.

Regards.
