timestamping in syslogd

I would like to know if there is a way to stop syslogd from timestamping and providing the host name information whenever it is logging information. For example it displays something like

Apr 8 10:43:45 ik-linux IFTI: Hello

Apr 8 10:43:45 ik-linux

is being prepended by syslogd and I don't want it to be prepended. Using -m as an option does not help.

Any suggestions...
