Time notification in opensuse 11.2


Hello,

It's a dummy question, but does anyone know of some "time notification" setting or program for opensuse? I wish I could be notified every whole hour. And is there anyway to hide the clock without removing it from (gnome) panel?

How about using cron and Xdialog?
