Time

How do I fix the time on Redhat 7.2? The time on my server is off. What file do I edit?

twantrd 06-27-2003 02:48 AM

type:

man date

then you'll know the date parameters to enter to correct your time.

You can also sync your hardware clock (the one in your bios) and the software clock as follows :

"hwclock --systohc" (system clock -> hardware clock)
"hwclock --hctosys" (hardware clock -> system clock)

If you want your computer to keep accurate time I suggest that you take a look at hwclock.
man hwclock
