I am trying to install this software using a SSH connection. I have been using Real VNC for quite some time now and I did not know that the actual connection was NOT encrypted. I help another user out from time to time and I don't like the fact that the connection is NOT encrypted. I had selected the Encrypt password feature and I mistakenly assumed that the entire connection was secure and I found out later that it is NOT.

I need help configuring this on the server side and on the viewer side using a SSH tunnel. I am hoping that someone can help me step by step doing this. I have never done this before so this is why I need step by step instructions. Thanks so much in advance to anyone that replies.

VNC is a nasty nasty thing. if you want a good alternative, try nx from nomachine.org (free for a 2 user install) it's implicitly done over SSH from day one and is just great.

Thanks for the input. In answer to your question, you are correct. I should remove that info. I have had it that way for years and forgot to take it out. However, back to the original question, will this software run on Windows 7? I am running Windows 7 on both PC's (server and remote connector). Thanks.

One more thing, I just downloaded it, and Norton found viruses on the download. How could that be? WS.Reputation.1 was the Virus it found. Thanks.

it's not a virus. It just means you're not installing something common.

I have read about it and I see what you are talking about. However, in doing MORE research on this software, there does not seem to be a 64-bit version of it. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. Will the 32bit run okay on this PC? Thanks.

can't windows run both versions? Isn't that a non issue? Did you just try it?
