Tiger VNC on Debian

I recently install tigervnc on my Debian server.

I changed the port to 5905, But I could not get that port open.
I saved the port in iptables and when I check the IPtables I could see that the port is listening. But when I check the port in netstat the port is not shown up.
Also when I telnet to the port I am getting a connection timed out error. Any hint what the cause could be?

Also I need to Install tigervnc on ArchLinux. Any useful link I could refer to Install the same?
