Thunderbird-accounts@mozilla.org dononation request

The other day I used my Ubuntu laptop to get my email using thunderbird and it came up with a note that Thunderbird support was no longer provided by Mozilla and was being provided by a volunteer team which needed donations. I donated $10.oo to allow my email to be accessed. Is this a spam or for real?
