But if you want to compile your kernel download the kernel source either by your distro or http://www.kernel.org Please note that your distro may have customized the code for your distro so the source from your distro may be different then the one from kernel.org. But use google to find you some simple steps. Just take the config file from your /boot and copy it to your linux source as .config. then follow steps provided by google search.
