thinkpad 600x won't boot up from cd

Hey all,
I have an IBM Thinkpad 600x (PIII 500mhz) and I'm trying to install Linux on it....However, my CDROM does not boot up from the CD. I made sure it was set to boot from the CDROM in the BIOS and I'm sure that I burned the iso on the CD correctly. Any ideas on what's wrong??

Please help! Thanks

I had a 600x and booted from the CD no prob. Have you tried testing the CD in another computer to see if you could boot off it? or try another bootable CD in your laptop?

Another stab would be to flash your BIOS with the latest image.

Good Luck!
