thinking of ditching windows for linux
I am currenly on my second week of a 14 week linux red hat 9 course where we will be learning red hat, white hat hacking, and toying wiht knoppix-std. So far I'm very excited about this course and I actually wish we met more often :) I'm getting a lil tired of the tyranny of windows ;) and I am thinking of switching to using linux as my main OS. Right now if I was to do this I would be switching to redhat 9 since that's what I'm using in class. Just wanting to hear some feedback on ppl who have switched to linux and how their transition was and if they are happy with it.

Switched to Debian SID and happy with that :-)

I was a RedHat 7.3 user for quite some time. Because 7.3 did not cover 100% of my task, I had to keep windows98 around.

Now I switch to RedHat 9.
I have been using it for the last month and since then I have not even booted once in windows98.
RedHat 9 does and supports everything I need.

My next step is to buy a faster CPU in order to get Wine working at optimal speed.
