thinking I reactos instead of wine

Hi,

I have been looking all over for information on how to install MS programs in wine, I have WINe, IE and MP 7 & 6.4 installed. I just don't know how to install programs from the optical drive.

Do I have to use command line or is there a gui utility like explorer. I read you must use winefile but I have an explorer like window already. It says reactos in the title bar.

Can one install an win antivirus in LIN through wine, I know lin only has like 100 known viruses but it becomes a problem when dual boot or samba. Can IE and WMP be affected in wine.

I would go for a linux AV not a windows one, such as http://www.clamav.net/

they can scan windows shares and linux ones.

a windows AV (assuming it can even read a linux filesystem?) will be looking for windows system files/types and known windows virus', useless in Linux and probably won't work too well under wine either.

if wine is installed you can run windows binary executables (.exe) with wine <file>.
