There is no /home/oracle directory in Centos

SQL>  select * from V$version;

I can su - oracle and can also login to oracle user via ssh/ftp but why there is no /home/oracle directory in my OS? How can I create in a way not to make any changes to oracle

Please advise

It is a database server using the user to run the process, the oracle user is not a normal user that has to do work etc like when you log in to the gui. Therefor there vis no need for having a home directory.
