The Wine bottle won't open on RedHat9!!
I've recently downloaded and installed WINE (RedHat9, i686 build).
But when I try to run it, it terminates, returning the following message: /usr/bin/wineserver: relocation error: /usr/bin/wineserver: symbol epoll_create, version GLIBC_2.3.2 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference I didn't do anything between the install and the first run, so I don't have a clue what's wrong. Can anyone help me? |
..
im a n00b but it sounds like you need to install some libray files or something,, try finding a GLIB package...
if it dont work dont flame me,, |
You should probably try a newer distro, considering RH9 isnt supported anymore. Wine might need Glibc 2.3.2 to run. Or maybe update. You should try maybe Fedora or Suse.

Either build from the source or run up2date to get all the updates

i'm awfully sorry, but i swapped rh9 for suse9.2 some time ago, and i dont remember anymore where and what i downloaded.
but on suse wine is included, so you, too, might want to change for another distro, since for the average user, suse is more suitable. redhat is more appropriate for server applications. |
