The wallpaper changes the color itself.

Hi guys,

I am using xfce, and set the wallpaper myself. It had been OK till yesterday. The color of the wallpaper changed, and I don't know what I did wrong. Tried to drop the wallpaper and used the default one (with a little rat in the middle one), the same thing happened.

It is how the wallpaper looks now and the original picture:

How do I fix it?

Thanks in advance.

that looks like an exact negative.
i remember xfce4 used to have advanced background setting options, like saturation and brightness... maybe there's also a "negative" or "inverted" checkbox?

It looks ok to me, kind of coool even, let me know how you did that if you figure it out. I'm using xfce4 right now myself

Sorry guys. I am an idiot. I didn't adjust the setting carefully. It is ok now.

Go to the desktop setting. Play with the saturation. Enjoy it :hattip:

I looked but I couldn't find an option to play with saturation there.

ETA: Perhaps under colour, playing with the gradient would accomplish it.

Mine is different. I don't know why. Maybe the version is different?!

Interesting. I wonder why that is.

i noticed that xubuntu uses a simplified version of the desktop background gui.
it does, however, still look different from your screenshot.

@ondoho

It's more similar, though. I'm running Ubuntu (14.04) where xfce has been installed as an alternative desktop to Unity, rather than running Xubuntu.
