the root= kernel parameter
Hi all, I just install slackware to my usb thumb drive , Linux FS flagged but using the VFAT file system.
I load the grub using another USB thumb drive ( supergrub disk). I just tried the root= /dev/sda /dev/sda2 /dev/sdb1 /dev/sdb2 and etc... but it doesn't seems to work. where I can know the precise meaning of the naming on slackware ? Where is the this parameter parsing code is located ? how can I change it ?Any suggestions and ideas ? where is the code that remounts the root partition ? /init/main.c ? I have refer this a long time ago but now everything is changed. --Thanks in advance-- |
Did you try /dev/hda? Slackware 12.1 was still using hdx naming scheme.
