The newbie messed up again (Dual boot probs)
 

Ok, I got FC3 up and running without a hitch, but during the install process I forgot to configure the bootloader for my other Operating System (WinXP) and it doesn't look like it did it automaticly. How do I fix this?

I'm not quite sure what I should be editing, I took a look at grub.conf but I don't wanna break something.

If you mean you see the menu for windows (or NT or other) in your startup screen in grub, but you can't boot windows, try this http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=245701

the quick answer is to just re-install fc3, this time remembering to configure the bootloader properly (write it on the back of your hand....it works for me). now, if you have stuff you can't/don't want to back-up/delete, then, ya, you're gonna have to post your grub configuration file, and what partition is what (eg, /dev/hda is /boot, /dev/hdb is windows, /dev/hdc is /home, etc).....

Well, first off, the reason I asked instead of reinstalling is because I wanted to learn how to fix it, so I wouldn't have to ask about it again in the future.

Second, the problem was that the boot loader was starting FC3 so fast, it never even appeared. So to fix that I added a couple extra seconds to the timeout (Now set at 8 I believe) and set the default to "Other" being Windows.

I'm typing this from Windows, so I guess it worked out alright, but thanks for your responces anyways.
