I've setup Cups and I've replaced the default lp and lpr with the Cups versions (don't know if I should've but it works). Everything prints perfectly. Except for the Gimp. Nothing happens when I try to print with the Gimp. Cups doesn't show any jobs. What am I doing wrong?

I installed the slackware package... Isn't gimp-print included? Anyway, I have a HP Deskjet 3420 which doesn't seem to be in there lists. The Gimp shows my printer (with Postscript 2, whatever that means), when I press print I see a progressbar fill up but other then that nothing happens.

Its sending the print to a Postscript file. When you actually print and you have the print parameter dialog box select the printer setup and select the your printer and below in the box marked Command you'll see a line that ends with -oraw. Delete the -oraw and carry on and it should send the ouput to the printer. I have to do it this way all the time which is a real hassle.

Have you clicked on "Print and Save Settings"? It should save your settings in ~/.gimp-2.0/printrc
