The error isn't even present on Google!

I am trying to use totem, I have uninstalled the totem-gstreamer because synaptic says it's not compatible with one of the other parts (totem, and totem-xine) I figured those were more important to DVDs?

Anyway, the error was

Unexpected error status 8192 while mounting /media/cdrom0

But now it just asks me for a file when I put the DVD in... That's bad, right?

Appreciate any help... I am a noob. Please plan accordingly =)

Try inserting the disk yourself, and mounting it with mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom. Substitute the second path for the directory that the cdrom mounts to (the folder you open up to view its contents - would that be /media/cdrom?).
