text runs off-screen in 80x25 resolution
Hi everyone,
I just upgraded my kernel from 2.4.26 to 2.6.9. Everything seems to be working fine except for the display. I compiled the new kernel with framebuffer enabled and having the line "vga=xxx" in lilo.conf works alright. But when i change the same line to "vga = normal", the resolution turns into 80x25 as expected but there's a blank space taking up the first first five rows of the screen (where the tux logo would be when using framebuffer) and the last five rows run off the edge/bottom of the screen. Also, during boot i get this error message: vesafb: probe of vesafb0 failed with error -6 which might be related to my problem. So would anyone have an idea as to what's causing the "vga = normal" resolution to mess up? Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays. |
