Text mode logon screen help

Hey everyone, I would like to know how I can change the logon screen on my debian 2.6.8 distro.
I am using run level 2, and when I login to my system using ssh, I'm getting the next screen
Quote:

Linux DebianIL 2.6.8-2-386 #1 Tue Aug 16 12:46:35 UTC 2005 i686 GNU/Linux

The programs included with the Debian GNU/Linux system are free software;
the exact distribution terms for each program are described in the
individual files in /usr/share/doc/*/copyright.

Debian GNU/Linux comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY, to the extent
permitted by applicable law.
I want to change that screen, how can I do that ?

thanks alot !
Ilia

Try editing the file /etc/motd
(motd = Message Of The Day)
