Terminal usr help

I have a rather odd Question to ask, some time ago when I 1st started doing online chatting...
i use to connect to a basic linux terminal setup, i would type pine for mail irc to use IRC
option, this is where my memory fails me. If i wated to use a added IRC script that was on the system.....I use to type /load "phoenox" or file name....
I remember thewre WAS a filr name I could edit to load ir automatically when i typed irc
can any tell me which file it was and where it might be

thank you

Let me get this right - you want to run a script which will, I guess, set up a pre-configured irc session and so on (like you would have to type a whole pile of commands to do the same.)

Normally you would just do ./scriptname, and that would get you the effect you want?

But you want to be able to write "irc" as the command to invoke the script.

i.e. You need to make an alias.
