Terminal types

When I run the following command

Quote:
ps -ef | grep dhcp
I see a question mark in the terminal type column.
Quote:
dhcpd 22191 1 0 12:01 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/dhcpd3 -q -pf /var/run/dhcp3-server/dhcpd.pid -cf /etc/dhcp3/dhcpd.conf eth1
What does the '?' mean?

The ? means "unknown value"

This is quite common for daemon processes as they do not tend to be linked to a specific terminal
