Terminal not saving settings(background, etc.)
 

Hi,

I've used Mint for a year, and recently had to install the xfce desktop onto the Cinnamon edition of Mint 17.1, as the laptop it's on is just too old to handle Cinnamon as smoothly.

It seems that since then, my terminal savings, particularly the background image, haven't been saving. It just keeps reverting to a black background, and in the terminal profile preferences menu, the "background image" radio button isn't selected. I can change them from here and they work, but at best they only stay saved until my next boot of Mint.

Any idea what I can do to fix this? Other forums just seem to have given up answering. Thanks in advance!

That is normal.

To change the colour of the terminal's background you click on the Colours tab, not Background.

Hmm...I'm looking at that page, and I can't see anything I've been doing wrong. I just set the background image again and rebooted to test it a few minutes ago, and it went right back to just a black background(I want to keep the image saved as the background, not just change the color.)

Could this be a bug? I'm not seeing anything weird about the menus themselves. They look self-explanatory and I've tried this many times.

Also, maybe I should mention that the image in question is on my "data" partition, which has no OS on it and is NTFS format so I can share media between Win/Linux. Might this be the reason it doesn't stay the way I set it? I don't recall it being a problem in Cinnamon, but it's consistently done this on xfce.
