Terminal Mode to Desktop

What is the command to get to your desktop from terminal mode?

In the terminal I am at: wayner@localhost ~]$

What command gets me to my desktop?

Also, if you can point me to where I can get basic commands in Fedora 9 I would appreciate it. New to fedora coming over from Vista.

Thanks

Run kdm. This should launch K Desktop Manager.

I think CTRL+ ALT + backspace is used for restarting the KDM. You can not go back to terminal using this key seq.

For going back to terminal, we can use CTRL+ALT+ F1, CTRL+ALT+ F2, CTRL+ALT+ F3 etc. and to go back to GUI, CTRL+ALT+F7 or CTRL+ALT+F8.
